For anyone who loves the tech world, having great equipment is an absolute must. So, having equipment which breaks, or falls apart is tantamount to losing a treasured pet or such. These days however, spare pieces are available to make sure that we can squeeze the last bit of life out of this equipment. This is particularly true for iPhone parts and Macbook parts which are easily accessible particularly on the internet.
The usual routine is that most of us simply toss out our old equipment whenever we think that it is over and done with but it may be just one spare part that needs to be replaced. So by just replacing one or two individual pieces we can normally get some extra life out of it.
This has never been more necessary than these days when everyone is feeling the pinch of the global downturn in the economy. Many have now realized that it is simply not a case of buying the next new gadget but making the most of what we can afford right now.
These pieces can usually be replaced by the amateur if they take their time to work out what is wrong with the piece. Having the right equipment is also a good thing and these are also available in the minute sizes needed to open up delicate equipment that could be further damaged by using the wrong equipment.
For those who do not want to take a chance on damaging their equipment even further, technicians are available to do the work. But this will obviously be more expensive than the do it yourself route. Sourcing a spare on line is probably the easiest way to start the search. Suppliers who buy in bulk offer the best possible prices and are even cheaper than the original pieces from well known companies. Even by sourcing this equipment and giving to a technician there are savings to be made.
Suppliers will also often have blown up maps where the amateur can trace and track the piece which is giving a problem. With just the most basic of knowledge, the amateur can work out how to fix in the new piece to make the equipment work again.
It may be that the equipment is just a little scratched or damaged on the casing but this too can be replaced with ease. Making it look a bit smarter is all that is needed often to make the owner comfortable with it again. Or it may be that the equipment has just some small piece missing, like a lens cap in the case of mobile phones with camera capabilities.

For those who just love to have new equipment the minute that it hits the market, try recycling the old equipment by donating to some great charities who will make sure that someone in a third world country will have the opportunity to have a go at modern equipment. This not only makes sure that equipment is recycled down to its last breath; it also helps those people too.
